Along with most other areas of professional business activity, estate agents have had to adapt to new technologies in recent years. However, this has led some to neglect many of the traditional methods which worked so well previously.

So, how do we do it?

Marketing
There are actually two different sides to the art of marketing for an estate agent. The first is attracting buyers or renters to the properties we are representing on behalf of our clients. The second is to gain new business for ourselves.

When it comes to selling or letting property, things really have changed since 'the old days'.

However, a perfect example of those 'traditional methods' mentioned above is the way in which a picture in the window of an estate agent's local office still has great value. It might not be the main way potential buyers find a new property these days, but it could be the way the right buyer finds yours. It's certainly a good example of how some estate agents overlook tried and tested ways of doing things that can still have much to offer.

Even so, the internet truly did revolutionise this aspect of our industry. According to research from HSBC, UK home buyers are the most digitally active in the world, with 93% making use of a range of online resources in their search.

Other research from online traffic statistics expert Hitwise claims that 1% of all internet traffic in the UK is property-related.

Websites and portals
So it's no surprise that the most popular property websites such as Rightmove and Zoopla enable your property to reach a great number of suitable potential buyers, which is why we have an established presence on both.

Word of mouth
In the past the best publicity an estate agent could have was the traditional 'word of mouth' recommendation. Today this is still an extremely effective way for people to find out about just how good we are at what we do. However, online reviews are essentially the contemporary version as they achieve the same results.

For more than 25 years a solid reputation amongst our clients for our professional and friendly service has meant a great deal to us. The fact that today word continues to be spread online from people we have successfully helped is something we are very proud to highlight.

In a world where so many professional services are carried out solely online, with little or no face-to-face personal contact, our traditional values can really come to the fore and set us apart from others.
