Why Local Community is Important to an Estate Agent
Date Published
06 March 2025
The old proverb charity begins at home is sometimes misunderstood although at heart it's a positive message. For estate agents, whose day to day work revolves around people and their homes, it is a saying that carries particular importance.
Any business which is involved in dealing with members of the local community should always do their best to play a positive role helping others wherever possible. That's why at Stafford Johnson we're proud to be taking part in supporting The Sussex Cancer Fund this month and the Goring by Sea Methodist Church 80th Anniversary Flower and Craft Show in June.
Local matters
We've been helping people to buy and sell homes in Ferring, Goring and West Worthing for more than a quarter of a century. During that time we've met so many people who love our area and understand exactly why it is such a desirable place to live.
One of the things that stands out is the sense of community that people have. That might show itself by helping keep the local environment in such great shape, or by taking an active role in looking after the wellbeing of those less fortunate than themselves. Whatever the actions are, they are all tied together by the thread of wanting to make life better for others in the community.
Get togethers
Local communities are built around the idea of coming together. Whether that is to take part in a particular activity or simply to just talk and communicate with other people, it's that sense of being involved that makes all the difference.
We're hosting a coffee morning at our office on Goring Road on Friday 14th March to support The Sussex Cancer Fund. It's an important cause that many people in our area have benefited from and we're hoping to
raise much needed funds
and awareness for them, so please pop along if you can.
Stereotype image
We love being estate agents but don't like the classic stereotype image that many people still have about those who work in our profession.
Our day to day job is essentially helping people to go through what can be a stressful, although ultimately very rewarding process. Moving home, whether you are buying, selling or both, is one of those 'big moments' in life that usually doesn't happen too often to people.
It's something we always remember and we like to think that sets us apart from others in the same job.
That's why we're proud to be part of the community and play an active role in helping wherever and whenever we can.
